Windsor Locks Voters Overwhelmingly Reject 2025-26 Budget Proposal ... Again
The Board of Finance will make further cuts to its spending package proposal, and voters will decide its fate at referendum on July 1.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT —For the second time in 14 days, voters in Windsor Locks were asked Tuesday to decide the fate of a nearly $63 million spending plan for the 2025-26 fiscal year. And much like a referendum on June 3, which was rejected by nearly 70 percent of the residents who voted, Tuesday's results turned out the same ... but by a more overwhelming margin than the previous vote.
The primary operating budget for the town as initially proposed by the Board of Finance was $61,877,604. That number was turned down by 68.6 percent of the voters at the June 3 referendum, prompting finance board members to make some cuts.
A revised figure of $61,413,831 was offered Tuesday, but 998 citizens voted nay, as opposed to 154 in favor - a whopping 86.6 percent.
