Windsor Locks Woman Dies After Head-On Crash, Police Say
A Windsor Locks resident died after a crash in Suffield on Thursday, police say.
WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A Windsor Locks resident died after a head-on crash involving a car and a Sprinter-style van in Suffield, according to an update from the town's police department.
Suffield police said the crash occurred around 1:45 p.m. Thursday near 367 East Street South when a car crossed the double yellow line on Route 159 and struck a Sprinter-style van head-on.
The driver of the car, Carol M. Breton, 77, of Windsor Locks, was rushed by ambulance to Baystate Hospital with "very serious" injuries and later died, police said. Her next of kin has been notified.

The driver and passenger in the van suffered minor injuries and were not transported from the scene, authorities say.
The North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Squad (NCMARS) continues to investigate the deadly collision.

Police said the stretch of Route 159 that had been closed between Boston Neck Road and Bridge Street has since reopened following the on-scene investigation.
