Bayard Students Selected to Perform at The Wilmington Ballet’s “The Nutcracker”
Five Bayard School band students will perform during The Wilmington Ballet's "The Nutcracker" intermission.

Five students from the Bayard School’s middle school band have been selected to perform during the intermission of The Wilmington Ballet’s production of “The Nutcracker” at The Playhouse on Rodney Square in Wilmington, Delaware.
Seventh graders, Shanell G. and Aaliyah G., along with sixth graders Kandyce H., Azalea W., and Blaise S., recently took part in the first of two technical rehearsals for the production, which premieres this weekend. They will perform in the proscenium box stage left during the intermission between Acts 1 and 2.
During rehearsals, the students experienced the behind-the-scenes operations of a professional Broadway-caliber production. They spoke with principal dancers who perform worldwide, conversed with members of the Chamber Orchestra, sat in the orchestra pit, and observed the coordinated activity backstage among the large and diverse cast.
