Cityfest, Inc. continues its year-round concert series honoring Wilmington’s own Clifford Brown with a holiday gift for its subscribers. This December, everyone on the Clifford Brown Year-Round email list will get a holiday treat delivered right to their inbox--an exclusive re-release of last year’s livestream Cartoon Christmas Trio’s performance highlighting the music of Vince Guaraldi, in particular the soundtrack of the Peanuts Christmas Cartoon. In addition to the Peanuts music, the trio plays songs from "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas," "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer," "Frosty the Snowman," and "The Little Drummer Boy," just to name a few. The performance will be available to stream anytime between December 23rd to 27th, making it the perfect holiday backdrop to festive gatherings or a cozy night in. If you’ve been a supporter of Cityfest, keep an eye out for an invitation email and the chance to share this musical gift with a friend!
Clifford Brown Year-Round will continue in the new year with a musically updated of the best-selling concert from 2021, “How Do You Sing Love?” The concert premieres on Friday, February 18th with performances by Maya Belardo, Nadjah Nicole, Jea Street, Sharon Sable, V. Shayne Frederick, Darnell Miller, Hannah Carter, and Augustine Mercante. In March, the series continues with “New Generations, New Experiences, New Work,” an evening exploring new iterations of jazz and other art forms with everything from culinary experimentations to live painting. April’s show will be the 2nd Annual International Jazz Day Awards Concert. This year the concert features the Clifford Brown Festival Orchestra presenting Duke Ellington’s legendary Sacred Music Concert.
All shows begin at 7:00 p.m. and tickets are Pay-What-You-Wish with a $10 suggested donation for virtual and $25 suggested donation for in-person. Sign up to receive updates about the series at www.cityfestwilm.com/.
