Building on the foundational skills from Introduction to Sketch Comedy, this dynamic course dives deep into the anatomy of a hilarious sketch, guiding you through proven techniques for crafting comedic gold. But it's not just theory – you'll be actively workshopping your material in lively read-throughs, receiving invaluable feedback that sharpens your comedic voice. Explore popular sketch formats like Game Show, Commercial Parody, Town Hall, Talk Show, and beyond, as you hone your craft with bi-weekly writing assignments designed to get your best ideas on the page.

Your instructors for the course come from Bad Medicine, DC's premier sketch comedy troupe. Trained by the Upright Citizens Brigade and Second City, Bad Medicine has performed at North American festivals like Montreal Sketchfest, NYC Sketchfest, Chicago Sketchfest, and Sketchfest Seattle. They also produce award-winning short comedy films, and a podcast about the craft of sketch comedy called Sketch Nerds.

Mondays, March 2 - April 6, starting at 8 p.m.

This is an online class, conducted through Zoom meetings. Participants must have a reliable Internet connection and a computer, phone or device with a web camera and microphone. Completion of Introduction to Sketch Comedy or sketch performance experience is a prerequisite to this course.
