For $170 Million You Can Own Florida's Most Expensive Home

FLORIDA — If you’re deep-pocketed enough to afford it, a $170 million property in Miami Beach could give you the opportunity to purchase the most expensive home for sale in Florida.

The most expensive homes on the market in the U.S. range in value from $225 million in California to $3 million in Nebraska, according to the real estate platform Point2Homes.com, which put together a list of the most expensive homes in for sale every U.S. state.

While movie theaters, gyms, tennis courts and waterfronts are often the norm for pricey homes, some of these include private parks, private docks, horse barns and even underground tunnels.

In Florida, the most expensive home is on an island in Miami Beach. The sale consists of four gated properties, each with a private dock.

"Never before available on the market, this is the largest assemblage of land currently available for purchase on Miami Beach in one of the most exclusive islands with approximately 600 feet of sparkling waterfrontage and stunning views to Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline," the listing says. Throughout the compound, there are 25 bathrooms, 12 bedrooms, a pool, balcony and patio. La Gorce Island is guard-gated, the listing agent said.
