FLORIDA — Bobbie Jean Carter, the sister of the late Aaron Carter and Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter, has died in Florida, according to multiple reports. She was 41.

The news was initially confirmed to TMZ through a statement by Bobbie Jean's mother, Jane Carter.

"I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean; and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time," the statement said. "When I am able to think clearly, I’ll release a fuller statement; but until then I would request to be left to grieve in private."

Bobbie Jean — who leaves behind an 8-year-old daughter — is the third Carter to die suddenly. Her brother, former child pop star and actor Aaron Carter, died in Nov. 2022 after being found drowned in his bathtub having inhaled difluoroethane. He was 34.

Another sibling, Leslie Carter, died of a drug overdose in January 2012 at the age of 25.

The Carter siblings — Nick, Bobbie Jean, Leslie, Angel, and Aaron Carter — appeared on the family's reality series "House of Carters," which aired on E! Entertainment Television in 2006.
