Pay No Tax On These Items During FL Sales Tax Holiday
The back-to-school savings event is part of a $2 billion tax relief package that Gov. Ron DeSantis signed into law earlier in the year.
FLORIDA — In time for the new academic year, a back-to-school sales tax holiday begins Friday in Florida.
The savings event, which will run through Aug. 31, is part of a $2 billion tax relief package for the 2025-26 fiscal year that Gov. Ron DeSantis signed into law earlier in the year, the governor's office said.
The package allowed for $450 million in savings to be administered through multiple sales tax holidays.

The first day of school for most counties, including Palm Beach and Pinellas counties, is Aug. 11. Students in Hillsborough and Sarasota counties will also return on Aug. 11. Others may start school on Aug. 12 or Aug. 13.
