Floridians Most Want This Chain To Open In Their State

Everyone has that one brand they wish would open closer to home. Here's what Floridians picked.

Everyone has that one brand they wish would open closer to home, whether it’s a cult-favorite fast food chain, a beloved grocery store or a gym franchise they’ve only seen on TV.

But which chain would Floridians like to see most in their state?

Financial media company MarketBeat recently surveyed more than 3,000 people, asking them that question. Those surveyed included a balanced mix across age, gender and geography.

The results revealed Floridians want Blue Bottle Coffee to open in the state.

The coffee roaster and retailer was once headquartered in Oakland, California. In 2017, a majority stake in Blue Bottle Coffee was acquired by Nestlé. The company is known for its meticulous brewing methods and sleek, minimalist cafés.

"Known for single-origin pour-overs, espresso drinks crafted with precision, and its cult-followed New Orleans-style cold brew, Blue Bottle offers a coffee experience that blends art with science," MarketBeat wrote.

Coming in at No. 2 on Florida's list was convenience store chain Maverik.

"Known across the Mountain West for fueling stations that double as outdoor lifestyle hubs, Maverik leans heavily into energy drinks, grab-and-go meals and extreme-sport branding," MarketBeat wrote. "Floridians who’ve seen it out west often say its adventurous image would fit the state’s surf and travel culture perfectly."

Finally, residents would like sporting goods chain Scheels to open in Florida.

"The Midwest giant is part retail, part attraction, with everything from aquariums to Ferris wheels inside massive sporting-goods outlets," MarketBeat wrote. "Travelers who’ve visited Scheels in the Dakotas or Colorado often say it feels like an all-day outing as much as a store."

Nationally, no brand came up more often than In-N-Out Burger. From Alabama to Wisconsin, residents across the country listed the cult California chain as their dream arrival. East Coast grocery chain Wegmans also ranked in the top three in more than a dozen states, including some far outside its current footprint like Texas, New Mexico and Utah.

Meanwhile, not every wish was food. States like Alaska (LA Fitness), Colorado (Movement Climbing + Fitness) and Utah (SoulCycle) had an appetite for national gym and lifestyle brands.
