While Christmas is still weeks away, Florida residents should start planning soon if they want their gifts to arrive before Santa makes his way down the chimney.

This year, the U.S. Postal Service released the following deadlines for the contiguous United States, excluding Alaska and Hawaii.

• Priority Mail: Dec. 18
• Priority Mail Express: Dec. 20
