Parkland Tragedy: "The 5th Anniversary Of One Of Florida's Darkest Days"

Today marks the fifth anniversary of the mass shootings at Broward County's Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

Tuesday, Feb. 14, will mark the 5th anniversary of the mass shootings at Broward County’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, where 17 students and staff were killed in 2018 by a teen with an AR-15-style rifle.

Gov. Ron DeSantis has directed the following related to “Marjory Stoneman Douglas Remembrance Day”:

“In memory of the lives lost in this tragedy, I hereby direct the flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff at all local and state buildings, installations, and grounds throughout the State of Florida from sunrise to sunset on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, and ask all residents of the State of Florida to pause for a moment of silence at 10:17 am.”
