21 Fire Units Needed To Douse Out-Of-Control Mulch Fire In Riverview

Multiple brush trucks, tankers, engines and resources from the Florida Forest Service were brought in to suppress the deep-seated blaze.

RIVERVIEW, FL — Hillsborough County Fire Rescue called on 21 fire units to help douse an out-of-control mulch fire off Lincoln Road in Riverview Thursday.

The fire broke out around 3:40 p.m. Multiple brush trucks, tankers, engines and resources from the Florida Forest Service were brought in to suppress the deep-seated blaze.

Hillsborough fire commanders requested more heavy equipment from Hillsborough County's Office of Emergency Management to assist with the extended operation.

The fire was finally determined to be under control at 7:25 p.m.

There were no reported injuries.
