74-Year-Old Woman's Dedication During Coronavirus: Dover Hero
We all know someone who's making a difference in this difficult time. Let's help share these good stories like the one of Marilyn Register.

PLANT CITY, FL — When the going gets tough, the tough get going. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.
This submission comes from Angela Westmoreland of Lithia who nominated her 74-year-old mother, Marilyn Register. She works full-time in customer service in Plant City, and even though she might be considered higher risk for contracting coronavirus at her age, she doesn't let a worry like that get in the way of helping customers and co-workers.

Cashier at Walmart
Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
My mama is 74 years old. She works full-time at the Walmart in Plant City, FL. Of course with her age, she has been at a much higher risk of contracting COVID 19. But she sure hasn't let that stop her. She has been called in to work extra shifts and was happy to do so. The store has been much busier due to panic buying and people just having more time to shop at Walmart. She has been such a trooper through it all. I'm pretty sure her employer is grateful, but I highly doubt she'll receive any recognition. Of course there are many people besides her at that store and others that also deserve a special "thank you". I would bet though that my tough little mama is one of the hardest working cashiers around.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?
She is fearless! Walmart is such a huge company, that I'm sure it would be hard to personally thank each and every employee. But boy do they deserve it. Especially my sweet elderly mother.
