Back-To-School Festival

The 11th annual FishHawk Area Networking Group (FANG) Back-to-School Festival will take place Sunday, Aug. 4 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Campo Family YMCA gymnasium, 3414 Culbreath Rd., Valrico.

It will feature more than 65 local business booths, samples from 10 restaurants, music, extracurricular demonstrations, giveaways and door prizes.

Admission is free but $10 worth of new school supplies or a $10 cash donation per family is requested. The supplies will go to the Y’s backpacks for school children collection effort. 

Charity Poker Night

A No Limit Texas Hold 'Em Poker Night to benefit Devon Carver, a FishHawk Ranch mother in need of a kidney transplant, will take place Saturday, Aug. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at Sunset Bay Chapel of FishHawk, 6026 Churchside Dr., Lithia. The $35 ticket includes the main tourney, single tables, one food ticket and one drink tickets. 

Back-To-School Bash

Life Church at FishHawk, 6420 Lithia-Pinecrest Rd., Lithia, will host its seventh annual Back-to-School Bash Saturday, Aug. 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  

The event will include coupons for free haircuts at David Andrews Hair Studio in Lithia and Shear Expressions in Plant City, school physicals (no immunizations) by a local physician, food, a bounce house and school supply giveaways.

In addition, there will be a special appearance by Omega-Man, who hosts anti-bullying and character-building assemblies around the country.

Back To School With Confidence

Divine Individuals With Virtuous Attitudes (DIVA) will host a workshop titled "Going Back to School With Confidence" for girls age 6 to 16 Saturday, Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at HCC at The Regent, 6437 Watson Rd., Riverview. 

'Alice In Wonderland' On Stage

The Theatre Arts and Dance Alliance of FishHawk Ranch will present its ninth summer of children’s musical theater, Alice in Wonderland, Saturday Aug. 3 at 3 and 7 p.m. at Blake High School of the Arts, 1701 N. Boulevard, Tampa. Tickets are $8 for students and $10 for adults. Call TADA for tickets at 813-571-0901. 

Music And Wine

Cork & Olive Wine Bar & Cafe, 1026 Bloomingdale Ave., Valrico, will host Karaoke with Rita Saturday, Aug. 3 at 8 p.m. 

Family Fun Day

Pro Martial Arts, 119 W. Bloomingdale Ave., Brandon, will host a grand opening and family fun day Saturday, Aug. 3 at 10 a.m. The event will include free martial arts lessons, free pizza and a food drive for the Emergency Care Help Organization. 

Just For Laughs

FishHawk Tavern 16144 Churchview Dr., Lithia, hosts an Open Mic Comedy Night each Sunday at 8 p.m. Sign-ups start at 7:30 p.m.
