Bay Area Residents Featured on 'Family Feud'

Tampa Bay area residents who tune in to watch “Family Feud” might spot a few familiar faces.

That’s because the Eligon family is set to appear on three consecutive episodes, April 13-15. The shows air at 6:30 p.m. on WTTA-TV, Great 38 in Tampa.

Saint Leo University MBA student Mike Eligon was the driving force behind his family’s decision to audition for the show.

“I’m just competitive,” Eligon, who attends the university’s Tampa Education Center, was quoted in a media release from Saint Leo as saying. “I’ve always loved that show.”

Thanks to Mike’s prodding, Eligon family members attended auditions in Tampa in January 2014 and were selected. Family members appearing on the show include Mike’s wife, Lachelle; her brother Jarvis Young; and Mike’s brothers, John, a New York Times reporter who lives in Kansas City; and Alex, who lives in Clearwater. Mike and Lachelle live in Riverview.

“It was the most fun we ever had; it was great,” Mike Eligon was quoted in the release as saying. “At rehearsal, they bring 10 families on and only seven make it. You have to come with a lot of energy. They tape five episodes per day. Our first episode was the last one [filmed] of the day.”
