Boats Collide On Little Manatee River; 1 Dead, 2 Injured

RUSKIN, FL - Two boats collided on the Little Manatee River on Friday morning, killing one boater and injuring two others, deputies said. The boating crash occurred just east of Shell Point Marina in Ruskin. The injured were taken to a local hospital.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, along with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, responded to the scene about 8 a.m., deputies said.

Wildlife officials identified the victim killed in the crash as 75-year-old Arthur D. Showley of Indiana. Showley is a part time resident of Ruskin, officials said.
