Brownies Make a Splash with “WOW” Journey in a Day at CDT
Our Brownies made a splash this weekend at CDT with a WOW-worthy Journey in a Day!
TAMPA, FL – July 26, 2025 – Eighteen enthusiastic Girl Scouts from Troops 33508 and 33036 came together at Camp Dorothy Thomas on July 13 to complete the Brownie Wonders of Water (WOW) Journey in a single fun-filled and inspiring day.
Guided by leaders Wendy O., Joanne L., Laura C., Laura H., and Kayla Z., the girls explored topics such as water sources, conservation, water quality testing, and global water issues. As part of their Take Action project, they wrote original water conservation messages and decorated rain barrels that are now actively being used in the community—spreading awareness and making a tangible difference.
In Girl Scouts, Journeys are in-depth explorations where girls learn about a topic, connect it to real-world issues, and take lasting action to make the world a better place. Each Journey combines hands-on learning with leadership development, culminating in a Take Action project that addresses a community or global need.

The Brownies created a poster featuring this poem while capturing the wonder and importance of water:
Water, water, here and there
We are Brownies and we care
Liquid flows and vapor rises,
Snowflakes drift, ice disguises.
Water changes round and round,
Brownies watch the rain fall down.

This creative and impactful day is a shining example of how even our youngest Girl Scouts can lead, educate, and inspire their communities.
