Parent University, a series of free informational sessions to support the academic life of children, will be held on Saturday, April 27, at Riverview High School, 11311 Boyette Rd., Riverview, from 8 a.m. to noon.
Parent University is a collaboration of the Alliance for Public Schools, Hillsborough County PTA, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and the United Way.
This event will offer sessions focused on academic and support programs in Hillsborough County Public Schools, effective strategies families can use to help every child succeed, and ways to advocate for the resources necessary for public schools. School district representatives, along with district community-based partners, will conduct sessions.

Sessions will focus on navigating the education system, student learning and family health/wellness. The sessions are designed to be informative, fun and interactive.
A continental breakfast will be provided for all attendees and childcare will be provided at no cost by HOST (Hillsborough Out of School Time Program) for those families with children from 5 to 12 years of age.
