Fatal I-75 Crash Leaves Passenger Dead After Driver Loses Control: FHP

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — A man was killed in a Tuesday night crash on Interstate 75, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

A 42-year-old Sun City woman lost control of her car while driving south on the interstate near Big Bend Road just before midnight.

Her car traveled off the road, hit a guardrail and was redirected back to the inside travel lane, where it came to a stop.

Her passenger, a 44-year-old Sun City man, died at the scene, FHP said. The driver suffered serious injuries.

Neither were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
