Hillsborough Opens New East-West Route Across I-75 Near Apollo Beach
Paseo Al Mar Boulevard will relieve traffic on other routes like Big Bend Road.
APOLLO BEACH, FL — Bringing traffic congestion relief to fast-growing southern Hillsborough County, the new Apollo Beach Flyover overpass connecting Apollo Beach with U.S. 301 opened on Friday with a ribbon-cutting celebration.
This vital east-west corridor in South Hillsborough County is a four-lane divided road over Interstate 75 that will reduce traffic congestion and improve safety for drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists.
The design includes enhanced safety features consistent with Vision Zero principles, such as an 8-foot sidewalk on the north side of the road, new bicycle lanes, and accessibility in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
