Pinellas Park Man Killed When Multiple Cars Hit Him After He Jumped From Speeding Car

The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking the public's information in a fatal hit-and-run crash involving more than one vehicle.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — Multiple vehicles hit and killed a man after he jumped out of a speeding car on Interstate 75 just south of State Road 60 early New Year's Day, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

None of the vehicles stopped after hitting the 25-year-old Pinellas Park victim at about 2:23 a.m., investigators said. It is unknown why he jumped from a 2017 Hyundai Elantra.

Police said the driver, Toshia Lizette Caldwell, had a blood alcohol level (BAC) of 0.077 during her arrest on a DUI charge. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact FHP by calling 813-558-1800.
