River Flood Warning Issued For Tampa Bay Area
The National Weather Service has issued a river flood warning for the Little Manatee River and Cypress Creek through Saturday.
The National Weather Service has issued a river flood warning for the Tampa Bay area from Thursday night through Saturday morning.
Warning areas include the Little Manatee River at Wimauma and Cypress Creek at Worthington Gardens.
Meteorologists forecast that the heavy rain that occurred over last few days combined with the rainfall from today will allow for some local waterways to rise to flood stage by the week’s end.

NWS defines flood stage as the time when the measured height of street flooding and “out of bank” waterway flooding is the same.
The Little Manatee River is expected to reach flood stage at 11 feet by late Thursday, and the river is projected to crest at 11.8 feet by Friday afternoon.
