BLOOMINGDALE — RIVERVIEW, FL — A Marine veteran's Riverview home received a new roof on Dec. 1 from the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project in partnership with Operation Homefront.

Allan Dodsworth served active duty in the United States Marine Corps from 2002 to 2006, and left the service in 2008 after serving two years in the Marine Corps Reserves.

He and his family noticed visible leaks and water stains in the home's ceilings, so they contacted their insurance company to see if it could be fixed. Unfortunately, the roof, which was 15-years-old, was too old to be considered for replacement by insurance policies.

The leaks were created by holes in the roof that were caused by previous hurricanes in the Tampa Bay area.

The Owens Corning Foundation donated roofing materials and Gale Force Roofing & Restoration donated the labor.
