Red Cross Helping Four Seffner Residents Recover After Fire In Kitchen Destroys House
A woman and her child woke up to a burning kitchen at their house Monday. The rapid fire made it difficult for some residents to escape.

SEFFNER, FL — A kitchen in a Seffner house caught fire Monday morning, then spread to other parts of the home, WTSP reported.
A woman and her child safely escaped the house after they woke up to the fire, the TV station said.
According to firefighters, one person had to break a window to escape, and another person was able to get down a smoky stairwell to leave the house.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews arrived just after 10:40 a.m., and eventually got the fire under control.
None of the residents were injured. However, hamsters, a rabbit and a lizard died in the fire.

Red Cross is assisting the victims with food, clothing and a place to stay as they get their affairs in order.
The cause of the fire has not yet been released by the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.
