Sheriff Chronister Will Greet Kids 1st Day Of School In Riverview
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office's new eBikes will be on display for parents and kids to see at Sessums Elementary.

BLOOMINGDALE- RIVERVIEW, FL — Students at Sessums Elementary will be welcomed back to school by Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister and Superintendent Addison Davis Tuesday morning. Safety measures in place for the new school year will also be discussed.
In addition to the greetings offering by the sheriff, his office will amp up security in and around school zones with motor unit deputies and the new HCSO bicycle response teams with its officers debuting electronically-powered bicycles, known as "eBikes." The eBikes have the ability to accelerate from 0 to 30 mph within seconds, and they are equipped with lights, spotlights and sirens. Deputies on eBikes will have tablet computers, making the eBikes a full-capacity workstation and granting them the ability to issue citations when making traffic stops.
Both the new eBikes and school crossing guards, who are hired and employed by the Sheriff's Office, will be on display on the first day of school at Sessums Elementary, 11525 Ramble Creek Drive, Riverview.
