Sylvia Thomas Center For Adoptive Families Celebrates 22 Years In Riverview
Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce joined with Sylvia Thomas Center at the start of June and celebrated 22 years of community service.

BLOOMINGDALE — RIVERVIEW, FL — On June 1, the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce joined with long-time investor, Sylvia Thomas Center for Adoptive and Foster Families, to celebrate its 22nd anniversary, having had to delay its 20th-anniversary celebration due to the pandemic.
This ceremony was a celebration of 22 years in the 22nd week of 2022, recognizing over 20 years of caring support and service to adoptive and foster families.
The Sylvia Thomas Center keeps the “forever” in forever families by providing adoptive and foster children and families the necessary tools and support to enable them to bond and thrive, the staff said.

For over 20 years, they have been making an impact on the lives of adoptive families, working together to overcome obstacles and address behavioral challenges, Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce said.
We are committed to supporting families who are on their adoption journey to identify and manage threats to permanency, Sylvia Thomas staff said.

This may include family counseling, case management, and other support to address the experiences the children have had with abuse, abandonment, neglect and other challenges to attachment, staff said.
