BLOOMINGDALE-Riverview, FL — Businesses affected by the coronavirus pandemic were able to apply for federal relief through the U.S. Small Business Administration and U.S. Treasury's Paycheck Protection Program.

PPP loans were established as part of the federal government's CARES Act and are similar to grants: They will be forgiven as long as businesses keep employees on the payroll and don't cut their pay.
