Wimauma's Vision Of Creating A Downtown To Serve Residents: County

Hillsborough County Commissioners has an upcoming meeting for residents on business finances for opening retail stores in downtown Wimauma.

WIMAUMA, FL — The town of Wimauma could become an area with many local retail and services available to South Hillsborough County residents following a two-year community engagement of residents and businesses saying what they wanted to see for the area, a Hillsborough County news release said.

The Wimauma Community Plan outlines the vision of residents and the Hillsborough Board of County Commissioners. The board adopted it in fall of 2021, according to county staff.

Hillsborough County officials are in the process of studying the financial feasibility of providing the infrastructure that would contribute to a thriving downtown, the news release said.
