Adoptable Cats of the Week: These Are Miracle Kittens
They survived being thrown in a dumpster, compacted in a trash truck and then dumped at the landfill.
This week's adoptable pets are Mu and Jeeter, a pair of miracle kittens.
Mu and Jeeter, are 10-week-old domestic short hair kittens, a boy and a girl. They have been fostered through Manatee County Animal Services since October 28 when they were discovered at the landfill after having been thrown in a dumpster. The pair are part of a trio of days old kittens discovered when a worker at the landfill heard them crying in the trash at the landfill shortly after a truck had dumped its load. Workers realized that the kittens had been thrown into a dumpster and then compacted into a garbage truck, hauled to the landfill and dumped out again. Despite the ordeal all three kittens survived.
The kittens were bottle fed until they were old enough to be adopted. The worker who discovered the kittens adopted one of them. Now Animal Services is working hard to find homes for these "miracle kittens."
