Bradenton School Hosts 'Blankets for Veterans Family Night'

Oneco Elementary School's 3rd annual 'Blankets for Veterans Family Night' takes place November 17.

BRADENTON, FL - Oneco Elementary School students will host their 3rd annual “Blankets for Veterans Family Night” on Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Elks Lodge #2734 donated funds to the N.U.B.S. (Never Underestimate Brave Students), to purchase enough fleece to make 100 no-sew blankets. Staff, students, and families will carefully measure out the material, tie the knots, and fold the blankets in the school cafeteria during the event. Veterans from Bay Pines Hospital in St. Petersburg will be transported to the school on December 6th to receive the donation; the N.U.B.S. will also serve them dinner, at that time. This community service project is a good opportunity for the youth to interact with veterans and show appreciation for their service.
