Ex-Boyfriend Arrested In Woman’s 2013 Murder
Manatee County deputies say officials in Colombia have arrested a man in the 2013 death of a Bradenton woman.

BRADENTON, FL — A 28-year-old man was arrested by authorities in Colombia on Tuesday in connection with the 2013 death of his ex-girlfriend in Bradenton. The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office made the announcement of Andres Collazos’ arrest on Wednesday.
Collazos is charged in the June 2013, death of Jazmin Catano, 30, who was found dead inside her home in the 5900 block of 36th Street West by her ex-husband. According to the sheriff’s office, the ex-husband went to Catano’s home to drop off their child in the late-night hours of June 23. When no one answered the door, he went inside and saw evidence of a crime, a 2013 sheriff's office media release said. Catano had suffered from trauma to her body, the agency reported.
Manatee detectives identified Collazos as a person of interest in the case almost immediately. By Monday, June 24, 2013, Collazos had “fled to the country of Colombia,” an email from the agency noted.
