Holiday Schedule For MCAT Service Announced

A few of the Manatee County Area Transit auxiliary routes will have some holiday hours.

BRADENTON, FL – Riders of the Manatee County Area Transit system may not find as much disruption during the holiday hours as usual during 2016.

Christmas Day and New Year’s Day both fall on Sunday this year, which is a normal day off for most of the MCAT service lines. There will be no Fixed Route, Longboat Key Trolley or Handy Bus services on Sunday, Dec. 25 or Sunday, Jan. 1.

Fixed Route and Handy Bus services will and at 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24. The Anna Maria Island Trolley and Longboat Key Trolley will end service at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve as well.

Other than Christmas Eve, the Anna Maria Island Trolley will keep its regular schedule running daily from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. throughout the holiday season.

The Beach Express, which only operates on Sundays and Holidays, will keep its regular Sunday schedule for Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The route runs east and west between the Walmart on State Road 64 near the intersection of I-75 and the Manatee County Public Beach from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
