Update: Misunderstanding Prompted Scare Related to Orange Lincoln, Deputies Say
A girl walking to a Bradenton Boys & Girls Club after school Thursday was reportedly approached by a suspicious man.

BRADENTON, FL — Update Oct. 21, 4:19 p.m.: The driver of the orange Lincoln heard about the report and went to Lee Middle School to speak with the school resource officer on Friday. The sheriff's office said the man was calling out to his own daughter, not the girl who became frightened.
The deputy confirmed with the man's daughter, also a Lee student, "that her father called to her and picked her up at that location yesterday afternoon," an email from the sheriff's office said. "It appears the incident was simply a misunderstanding."
