Manatee County Burn Ban In Place Because Of Dry Conditions: Officials

An outdoor burn ban is in place in Manatee County, officials said. Fireworks and sparklers are also banned.

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — An outdoor burning and use of fireworks and sparklers ban is in place as of Tuesday in Manatee County, according to a news release from the county.

The ban includes items containing any explosive compound, sparklers, any item or product using or containing any amount of pyrotechnic composition, flares, open burning, and campfires because of the increasingly dry conditions in the county.

“It’s been a very dry season,” Jodie Fiske, public safety director, said. “Our Emergency Management Division regularly talks with our Fire Chiefs Association and Forestry, and they are all in agreement that we need to enact a burn ban.”
