Kruse Outpaced Van Ostenbridge: Manatee County Primary Results 2024

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — With all precincts reporting their results, Republican incumbent George Kruse led fellow GOP incumbent Kevin Van Ostenbridge in the race for the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners seat in the at-large District 7 seat. All vote counts are unofficial.

Van Ostenbridge previously held the District 3 seat but switched races to challenge Kruse.

As of 8:15 p.m., Kruse earned just over 23,000 or about 58.5 percent of the votes, while Van Ostenbridge received about 16,500 or 41.5 percent of the votes, according to the Manatee County Supervisor of Elections website.

In other county commission Republican primary races, Carol Ann Felts had a lead over Steve Metallo with about 54 percent of the votes in District 1. Tal Siddique, who earned nearly 61 percent of the vote, held a lead over April Culbreath in District 3. And Robert “Bob” McCann was ahead of challenger Raymond Turner in District 5 with about 54 percent of the vote.

A number of local races were also considered. Republicans chose their party's candidates in four Manatee County Commission races, while all voters in District 1 and 3 decided on school board members.
