FL Teacher Charged With Child Porn Possession

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — A resource teacher at Manatee Elementary School was arrested Tuesday by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for possession of child pornography, Manatee County Schools wrote in a social media post. (Read the full post and a letter from the school below.)

Daniel Armando Munive Viruet, 41, also faces a separate charge of possession of video/image of sexual activity with an animal.

The charges are related to incidents that happened in Hillsborough County.

He is being held at the Falkenburg Road Jail without bond.

Munive Viruet was immediately placed on administrative leave by the district following his arrest.

He “has not been on campus since Monday, Sept. 22, and will have no further contact with students,” the school district said.

The district has been cooperating with the investigation and there is no reason to believe any local students were involved, school officials said.

Counselors are available for students and staff as needed.
