Manatee Extends Deadline For Parks Master Plan Public Feedback
The final workshop is scheduled for Jan. 12 from 6-8 p.m. at Palmetto Library.

From Manatee County Gov: Nearly 500 people have given input on the future of Manatee Parks as part of the Manatee County Parks Master Plan. In an effort to solicit even greater public input, project planners today announced new opportunities to give input before the first public comment period ends.
When complete, the Parks Master Plan will provide a 15-year blueprint for the county to develop and maximize recreation areas and open spaces.
Much of the feedback has come during a series of workshops to get peoples’ ideas on what they love about local parks and to ask what they’d like to see here in the future.

Many others have participated in the Master Plan by taking an online survey at www.planmanateeparks.com. The deadline to participate in the survey has been extended to Thursday, Jan. 26.
Charlie Hunsicker, Manatee County Parks and Natural Resources Director, has said the public meetings are about getting “a wide diversity of comments and for people to tell us in their own words what their expectations are for what a quality parks system looks like.”
