Man’s Body Found Behind Bradenton Books-A-Million

A man's body was found behind under the overhang at the back of Books-A-Million around 6 p.m. Monday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

A homeless man reported the body to the Sheriff’s Office after he saw the man had not moved in over 24 hours. The homeless man told authorities he first saw the man while riding his bicycle behind the Books-A-Million building, 4225 14th St. W., around 3 p.m. on Sunday, but “didn’t think anything of it at the time,” according to a report.

When he rode his bike around the back of the building the next day and saw the man hadn’t moved, he walked up to him and noticed he was "obviously dead," a report said. That's when he reported the body.

The man is described as being white with a greying beard and hair and is reportedly between the ages of 40 and 50. The man’s identity has not yet been released. The MSCO is currently investigating the details of his death.
