
A 64-year-old motorcycle driver from Palmetto was killed today, when his Kawasaki was hit by a van exiting I-275 on to U.S. 41, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
John S. Meredith, who was driving north on U.S. 41, was thrown from the motorcycle and into the grass median north of the crash, after the van struck the left front side of his 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle.
The accident happened at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday.

The van's driver Sarsfield S. McNulty, 75, of Fairport, NY, was charged with violation of the right of way from a stop sign, according to the FHP report.
Mary McNulty, 72, was also riding in the van.

Neither was injured in the accident, even though the van landed on top of the motorcycle, which caught fire.
