A man who stole a gold chain from Kay Jewelers, telling workers to "call the cops," faces charges for other crimes, Bradenton police said.

BRADENTON, FL — A Bradenton man who stole a $9,000 gold chain from Kay Jewelers last month has picked up another charge, authorities said.
In the original case, Christopher Dimastrantonio told store employees, “You should call the cops,” before leaving with the necklace, Bradenton police said in a news release.

Dimastrantonio was arrested a third time on Wednesday and charged with uttering a forged instrument.
He’s accused of stealing a check, writing it out to himself and cashing it in September, three days before the jewelry store robbery, police said.
Dimastrantonio remains in custody. Following his arrest for grand theft, police in Scarborough, Maine, issued four violation of probation warrants for him, stemming from robberies committed there.
