No Injuries in Bradenton Shooting

A man was arrested following a shooting in East Bradenton on Tuesday evening, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Dominique Campbell, 26, of Bradenton, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana and tampering with evidence after deputies found guns and marijuana in his car following a shooting nearby.

Dispatch responded to call from a resident who said a silver Impala was shooting outside their house, on the 900 block of 33rd Ave. East., according to a report. 

Another witness was inside his vehicle across the street when his car was hit by two stray bullets.

MCSO saw a silver Mecury Sable leaving the area saying as deputies arrived; and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, Levonta Murray, and passenger, Dominique Campbell, were detained, a report said, Campbell was found to have ingested a small amount of marijuana prior to the stop.

A search of the vehicle revealed a handgun was found on the front passenger floorboard, along with a small amount of marijuana the report said.

Murray was released with a citation for running the stop sign at 33rd and Ninth Street East. Police say the original witness recanted their story about the Sable being involved in the shooting. 

Numerous shell casing were discovered in the driveway of the residence along with bullet holes in a car parked outside, a report said.

Campbell may face additional charges in the case. He is being held a Manatee County Jail on a $9,500 bond.
