Pedestrian Fatally Struck In Bradenton By Suspected Drunk Driver

Police said the driver fled the scene and was later involved in a second crash.

BRADENTON, FL — A Bradenton man died Friday night when he was hit by a truck driven by a suspected drunk driver, according to state police. The driver fled, and he was later arrested following a second crash.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 46-year-old man was walking north on 15th Street East near 49th Avenue East in Manatee County around 8 p.m. when he was struck by a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado also traveling north on 15th Street East.

The pedestrian died as a result of the crash, police said. Authorities did not release the victim's name.

Following the collision, the driver of the truck — later identified as 38-year-old Arnulfo Carranza Dominguez — fled the scene and was involved in a second crash on 9th Street East, near 44th Avenue East.

After the second crash, police said Dominguez fled the scene on foot.

Dominguez was located by police a short time later. He was arrested and taken to the Manatee County Jail, where he was charged with several counts, including no driver's license resulting in a death, driving without a license and driving under the influence.
