Pill Drop Locations Offered by Manatee Sheriff’s Office

Manatee County residents have a safe place to get rid of prescription pills over the next few weeks.

BRADENTON, FL — The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office has announced its plans to take part in the Florida Sheriff’s Task Force Operation Pill Drop over the next few weeks. The agency will accept people’s unused or outdated prescription pills at several locations.

People who want to get rid of their prescription pills will find the sheriff’s office’s operations center at 600 301 Blvd. W. will accept drop offs seven days a week, 24 hours a day during the operation. The pill drop event kicks off Oct. 16 and runs until Nov. 12.

Other locations for drop offs between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays are as follows:

“This operation will encourage citizens to properly and safely dispose of unwanted medications that could be potentially dangerous from accidental or intentional misuse,” a statement from the sheriff’s office said. “The pill drop also provides an environmentally safe alternative for medication disposal.”
