SCF Offers a Newly Expanded Medicare 101 and More Series

Individuals who are enrolled in Medicare or approaching eligibility are invited to a Medicare 101 and More series offered by State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota. The one-day, three-part workshop will provide a deeper, comprehensive explanation of the Medicare system, benefits and enrollment. Fall sessions will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. from September to December at SCF Venice, SCF Bradenton and SCF Lakewood Ranch. The fee is $29 for each session.

Sessions are on:

• Wednesday, Sept. 17, at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail.
• Wednesday, Oct. 8 at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W.
• Wednesday, Nov. 5, at SCF Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Pkwy. E., Sarasota.
• Tuesday, Dec. 2, at SCF Venice, 8000 S. Tamiami Trail.

Each session includes:

Part 1: Our Medicare System and Its Future – A candid look at the current Medicare system and potential future changes.

Part 2: Medicare 101 - Everything You Need to Know – A clear breakdown of Parts A-D, including what they cover, how they work, and rights and options.

Part 3: Enrolling for Benefits – A guided walkthrough of the Social Security website (SSA.gov) for online Medicare enrollment.

Participants can bring a laptop or tablet to navigate the interactive enrollment tutorial.
