SWAT Team Ends Standoff With Armed Suspect at Ace Cash Express
The man apparently cut a hole in the roof of a check cashing business and held a woman hostage for a short time.

A police standoff with an armed suspect at the Ace Cash Express ended a little after 2 p.m. today after a SWAT team reportedly launched tear gas into the building where he was hiding.
The Sheriff's Office reported that a man had cut a hole in the ceiling to get inside the building.
The Bradenton Herald reported that deputies rescued a woman tied up inside, but that the suspect got away through the hole in the ceiling.

Deputies spotted him on the roof, but he went back inside the building as the SWAT team surrounded the building.
The Sheriff's Office closed U.S. 41 between 53rd and Orlando Avenues during the standoff.
