MANATEE COUNTY, FL — A precautionary swim advisory issued for all public beaches has been lifted in Manatee County, the Florida Department of Health said.

The advisory was issued Thursday because of potential water quality effects related to Hurricane Idalia.

A no-swim advisory remains in place for Palma Sola South along State Road 64 near Palma Sola Bay, the agency said.

A no-swim advisory is issued when enterococci bacteria levels exceed federal guidelines for safe swimming. Contact with water in the area could make beachgoers sick, FDOH said.

The advisory will be in effect until the water meets Environmental Protection Agency safety guidelines.
