Van Hit School Bus In U.S. 41 Crash: FL Troopers
A van heading north on U.S. 41 hit a school bus that was stopped at an intersection in Manatee County, FL Highway Patrol said.
MANATEE COUNTY, FL — Four students were aboard a school bus that was hit by a van Tuesday morning as both vehicles headed north on U.S. 41, Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
The bus, driven by a 41-year-old Parrish woman, was stopped facing north in the U.S. 41 outside travel lane at Orlando Avenue, waiting to make a right turn, at 7 a.m.
At the same time, a GMC van was heading north in the U.S. 41 center lane approaching the intersection.

The van’s driver, a 28-year-old Sarasota man, failed to keep a safe distance between the two vehicles and the van’s right side mirror hit the left side of the bus, troopers said.
There were no injuries reported.
