Watch: Hillary Clinton’s Rallies in Fort Pierce and Coral Springs, Florida

Breaking: Democratic Hillary Clinton had a packed day on the ground in Florida with rallies planned in Fort Pierce and Coral Springs.

FORT PIERCE, FL — Fresh off what many are calling a knockout win in the first presidential debate, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton stumped for votes in Florida Friday with two public appearances.

Clinton went to a part of the state where a recent New York Times Upshot/ Siena College Florida Poll showed support for the Democrat was strong. That pre-debate poll, released Sept. 19, put Clinton ahead of Republican challenger Donald Trump in the Sunshine State by a very narrow 41 percent to 40 percent in a four-way race.

“Trump has as large a lead among Republicans (78 points) as Clinton does with Democrats (77 points) and independents are evenly split at 34 percent for Trump and 32 percent for Clinton with 18 percent for Johnson,” Siena College poll director Don Levy said in a statement related to the Florida poll.

When it came down to geographical regions, Trump led in the Tampa Bay area, the central part of the state and the northern regions. Clinton’s strongest support was found in the southeastern part of the state where both of Friday’s events are planned.

On the national level, the race, despite the first debate now being in the history books, is a close one. Real Clear Politics set its average Friday with Clinton in the lead by 2.9 percentage points.
