Woman Escapes Sexual Assault at Elementary School in Bradenton

The 23-year-old woman was able to break free "and challenge the two men with a weapon," according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

A 23-year-old woman escaped an attempted sexual assault by two men who attacked her and removed her clothing while she was running on a track next to a Bradenton elementary school, authorities say.

The woman was running next to Samoset Elementary, 3300 19th St. E., sometime Wednesday when the two men attacked her, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

She was able to break free "and challenge them with a weapon," according to the sheriff's report. The woman, whose identity was not released by officials, was unharmed.

The two men fled and couldn't be found.

One suspect is described as a man in his 20s with a thin build, about 6-foot-3 and wearing a red Michael Jordan hoodie and black pants.

The second man, also in his 20s with a muscular build, wore a yellow shirt, neon orange shorts and had a tattoo of a pinup girl on his arm, the sheriff's office said.
