1 Dead in Seffner Shooting
A woman is dead following a Tuesday afternoon shooting in Seffner.

SEFFNER, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Tuesday afternoon shooting in Seffner that has left one woman dead.
According to the agency, deputies were called out to the 12000 block of Park Avenue around 1:14 p.m. Oct. 11. When they arrived, they found an adult woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to Brandon Hospital, but died from her injuries.
An alert was placed for a vehicle that was seen leaving the home, the agency noted in an email to media. That vehicle was stopped in the area of Woodberry and Falkenburg Road. One person has been detained.

“Deputies are also interviewing five individuals at the residence with all the individuals having conflicting stories as to what occurred,” an email from the sheriff’s office said. “The residence is also known to have numerous individuals coming and going all the time. Deputies have recovered a firearm, but it is unknown if this is the firearm used in the shooting.”
Authorities are working to obtain a search warrant to get inside the home. No further information, including the name of the victim, is being released at this time.
